2024 EGL Wardrobe Post

I've never done a proper wardrobe post before, nor have I done a proper blog post before. I have no idea what I am doing but I am going to try my best! I hope you enjoy my horrible attempts and that the pictures can make up for my lack of skill. My wardrobe grew a lot last year and I really think I figured out a cohesive color palette, theme, and overall "vibe" for my wardrobe. I am really happy with the state of my closet. If I were to describe my style it would be something like "kitschy food obsessed art teacher" meets "quirky best friend". I hope you can enjoy my eclectic mix of dresses even half as much as I do! I will only be posting about my main pieces as I did not have the energy to photograph each individual item in my wardrobe but hopefully you can see a wide variety of my collection throughout the mannequin coordinates used to showcase the main pieces. -Faeryn (3/6/2024)

Red Main Pieces

2008 Angelic Pretty Fruits Parlor OP: This was one of the first prints I ever fell in love with in lolita fashion. I remember seeing photos of it in GLB when I was in high school and thinking it was just the prettiest dress in the world. I love the vertical stripes, polka dots, hints of lime green, and glitter details. I am so glad to have it in my wardrobe, but I really wish I had the JSK version. Someday I hope to switch it out. (blouse-unique vintage, headbow-corona rosada, necklace-angelic pretty)

2013 Angelic Pretty French Doll JSK: I absolutely love chaotic pattern mixing and this dress combines two of my favorite patterns; stripes and polka dots! I love this dress so much and it is incredibly comfortable. It is a new addition to my wardrobe this year and I think it will become a staple in my closet. I would really like to add the navy version as well. (blouse-lady sloth, necklace-corona rosada)

2009 Angelic Pretty Dream Cherry JSK: This was my ultimate dream dress for YEARS. Have you ever had a dress that you dreamed about? That you would feel pain looking at your closet and realizing it wasn't there? Dream Cherry was that dress for me. This dress is too short on me, is too tight on me when I am bloated, and wrinkles easily...but I just love it so freaking much. I almost lost it once when I got really depressed and sold off my wardrobe but luckily, I sold it to an online friend of mine that was willing to sell it back to me when I returned to the fashion because they knew how much I would miss it. I am forever grateful to them for that. (cardigan-emily temple cute, necklace-angelic pretty, headbow-metamorphose)

2012 Angelic Pretty Toy Drops: This is one of those dresses that I like better in theory than execution. I love the print and the overall design. I love how it looks on other people. I love how it fits me. I just hate the fabric. I rarely wear it because I cannot get over my own sensory "ick" with how the fabric clings to my skin and snags on my nails. I wish it wasn't this material. I keep debating selling it. (cutsew-angelic pretty, necklace-metamorphose)

2014 Angelic Pretty Magical Etoile: I originally owned this in pink but quickly realized that I really wanted it in red. I love how the print pops in the red colorway. This print is so whimsical and fun. There is so much to look at and I love the small glitter details. This dress is also really comfortable to wear! I really like how this dress looks with yellow but I often coord it with sax, pink, and red as well. (necklace-miss octopie, headbow-angelic pretty, sash-to alice, purse- kawaii goods, blouse- dreamer)

2023 Angelic Pretty Happy Park Carnival: When Angelic Pretty announced that they were doing a popcorn print I was absolutely ecstatic. I collect popcorn dresses and the larger brands rarely release my favorite motif! I really love this print, but I am not a big fan of the fabric used for this release. I have yet to wear this dress, but I plan to do so soon! I opted for the red colorway, but I really like the navy version too. I wouldn't be opposed to owning it if I found it for a good price secondhand.  (cutsew- angelic pretty, headbow- angelic pretty, popcorn headband- beholder fashions, purse- betsey johnson, necklace- lolita & colita)

2017 Axes Femme Coca Cola: I've admired this dress for a long time. It is such a silly dress. I do not drink Cola and I am not a fan of large corporations, but I am a fan of themes and quirky prints. Eventually my love of kitsch won over and I caved. I added this to my wardrobe last year and spent about 6 months planning a "commercial Christmas" coordinated based around those Coca-Cola holiday commercials. I really do like this dress. It is comfortable, easy to coordinate, and a great conversation piece! I had a custom bottle headpiece made to match, a custom embroidered Coca-Cola beret made, and acquired a bunch of matching Coca-Cola accessories to pair with it. It always brings a smile to my face. (cardigan- sugar teatime, headdress- beholder fashions)

2017 Bacio Bouquet Popcorn Carnival: This was one of the hardest popcorn dresses for me to track down. I was so grateful when someone on Instagram reached out to me last year to let me know that they were selling theirs. They knew that I had been looking for it and wanted to give me first dibs. It is an odd fit on my ribs and a bit uncomfortable, but I love the design so much. The stripes and popcorn carts bring me so much joy. I own this dress in both the red and navy colorways, but the red is definitely my favorite of the two! I may get this altered to make it more comfortable to wear because I would love to wear it more often. (cutsew- angelic pretty, necklace- lolita & colita, headband- disney)

2010 Bodyline Magnolia A-line OP: This is probably the dress I have had in my wardrobe the longest. I think that I got it in 2016 or 2017 and it has been through every stage of my lolita fashion journey. It is comfortable, versatile, durable, and just plain cute. I love the oversized collar, puff sleeves, and generous length. I wear this dress in and out of lolita fashion. It is just such a great dress. I also own it in the pink colorway, and I would love to own the sax version too. (cardigan- emily temple cute, sash- chemical romance, headbow- btssb)

2005 Emily Temple Cute Polka Dot Duck: The first time I saw this dress it was love at first sight. The print has such a nostalgic and retro vibe. The ducks make me so happy. I love the polka dots as well. I really want to find this dress in the navy colorway because it looks like the ducks are playing in a puddle! I really like the red colorway too and I am glad to own it. Unfortunately, the first time I wore it out it rained though, and the print bled. It has been vaguely pink ever since.  (cardigan- emily temple cute, beret- ms pineapple, necklace- angelic pretty)

2019 Goose House Popcorn Strap: I absolutely adore the print of this dress and when I reached out to my secondhand shopping service to help me track it down on Xianyu they were only able to find the strap version. Though I wanted the frill version I initially settled for the strap version because I wasn't sure they would be able to find my preferred version. When it arrived, I was devastated. The print is so cute, but the fabric is awful, the straps are awkwardly placed, and this version of the dress didn't have any elastic in it, so it was far too small on me. I will probably sell it now that I have my preferred cut. (headbow- cute.q, blouse- tiny garden)

2019 Goose House Popcorn Frill: About 9 months or so later my shopping service told me that they were able to find my preferred cut and asked if I still wanted it. The answer was YES! I am so glad that they were able to find it. The fabric is still terrible, but this cut has an open back with elastic in the waist, so it is far more comfortable to wear. I also like the frilly straps way more than the buckle straps. The added length from the frill on the bottom of the skirt also looks really cute. I love the design of this dress even if I hate the fabric. It is probably the worst fabric in my wardrobe. (headbow- angelic pretty, blouse- vcastle, purse- betsey johnson)

2008 Metamorphose Double Ribbon: This was a spur of the moment on a whim purchase and one that quickly became a wardrobe staple. Red dresses with white polka dots are one of my favorites in lolita and this one in particular does such an amazing job because it has so many detachable pieces. It is a truly versatile piece. It is also really comfortable to wear! (blouse- metamorphose, headbow- corona rosada, necklace- metamorphose)

2020 Metamorphose Marine Bear: I am not entirely sure why I bought this dress. I am not usually drawn to nautical themes nor bear motifs. I do not like the fabric of this dress and it doesn't really match my wardrobe. It is really cute though and very comfortable. (headbow- metamorphose, cutsew- metamorphose, necklace- angelic pretty)

2018 Mung Bean Ice Cream Popcorn: If I were to pick a favorite popcorn dress, this would probably be it. This design is just the perfect nostalgic tub of popcorn in dress form. It is comfortable to wear, has pockets, and is a nice length. It has adjustable straps too! The fabric isn't the best, but it isn't terrible. This is probably one of my most worn dresses. I own this in both red and navy. (blouse- cccat, headbow- metamorphose)

2020 Violet Fane Otome Nostalgia: This dress feels very different from the other dresses in my wardrobe, but I just love the details in the print. Violet Fane makes some truly beautiful artwork. I would love to own more from this brand. I love all the colors used in this print and it is really fun to coordinate. I am not a huge fan of the fabric used but the dress itself is comfortable and well made. It does have a tendency to snag on everything though. (cutsew- emily temple cute, brooch- erstwilder)

Pink Main Pieces

2008 Angelic Pretty Whipped Magic: This is one of my all-time favorite prints. When I first found out about lolita fashion when I was in Highschool this was one of the dresses that I dreamed about. When I finally got my hands on it I actually got the yellow colorway. I realized that I didn't like the yellow colorway because the cupcakes blended into the background too much. I sold it and bought the dark pink colorway instead. I am so glad that I did. I love it so much! I also purchased the black colorway. This is still one of my favorite prints in my wardrobe, even if I do not wear it that often. (headbow- corona rosada, blouse- unique vintage)

2010 Bodyline Magnolia A-line OP: I already gushed about this dress earlier so I won't say too much more about it but I will say that the red and the pink colorways do have very different vibes. The red is my favorite, but my partner is partial to the pink. I really like to coordinate the red with white, green, and yellow. I like to coordinate the pink with black, lime green, and sax blue. I used to own the sax colorway, but it was in the wrong size. Someday I will find it in my size! (cardigan- emily temple cute, beret- btssb, heart clip- angelic pretty)

2007 Baby the Stars Shine Bright Ice Cream Print: I absolutely love the colors of this dress, the polka dots, and the ice cream. The lace detailing is so pretty albeit incredibly high maintenance. However, I never wear it because the bodice fits me really strangely. It gapes in the middle but is also really tight on the sides. It has an odd tube shape, and the waist sits at a weird spot. I've tried selling it a few times unsuccessfully so at this point I am keeping it out of spite. I think I might get it altered to fit me better. I really do love the colors and overall vibe of the dress. It is also my only BTSSB dress so I kind of want to keep it because of that. (cardigan- little dipper, blouse- metamorphose, necklace- metamorphose, headbow- cccat)

2004 Emily Temple Cute Packaging Print: This is the oldest item in my closet. I really want the ivory colorway, but I settled for the pink until I can find it. It is a bit short for my liking, but I do really like the print. It has such a unique look to it. It reminds me of a wood block stamp. ETC did a rerelease a few years ago but it was a colorized version and no longer looks like a stamp. I much prefer this original version. (headbow- cccat, blouse- bodyline, cardigan- emily temple cute, necklace- metamorphose)

2022 Miss Octopie Anniversary: I was so excited when Miss Octopie first started teasing images of this release. I love the hyper saturated colors uses in the print and they aren't something that I see in lolita very often. I had a difficult time picking a colorway and initially ordered the yellow colorway. I had instant buyer's remorse and woke up the next morning in a panic. I messaged them and asked them to change my order to the pink colorway because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. The dark pink reminds me of Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and I love using it for character inspired coordinates. This dress is usually the dress I wear for conventions because of that reason, and it is also super comfortable. It has full back shirring and two pockets. I am so glad to have it in my wardrobe. (headbow- miss octopie, blouse- vcastle, necklace- my little pony, purse- sheep puff, sash- to alice)

2018 Shirley Temple Jam Jar: I bought this dress at a swap meet and I couldn't believe how much I loved it. I had never considered Shirley Temple before because I didn't think that they made anything that I could fit. I am so glad to know that I can wear their 160 size because I really do love a lot of the stuff that they make. This dress is beautifully constructed, the fabric is really soft, the print is vibrant, it has pockets, it has full back shirring, and it is really comfortable. I love it! (cardigan- metamorphose, heart clip- angelic pretty, necklace- metamorphose)

2014 Emily Temple Cute Cat's Treat Skirt: I absolutely adore this print but none of the cuts really work for me. I originally had the JSK in Ivory, but it was too short on me, and the bust didn't fit me very well due to the construction of the straps. I had hopes that the skirt would work better but I misread the measurements and didn't realize how short it was. It also isn't very full so I cannot wear a petticoat with it. I have considered trying to track down a second skirt, or even JSK, and getting them spliced together so that I can have a properly fit garment. I just love the design so much. I don't want to give up on it yet. (beret- elleni, cutsew- btssb, turtleneck- lucy & yak, heart clip- angelic pretty)

Yellow and Orange Main Pieces

2021 Chemical Romance Sweetie Birthday: When I first saw previews of this release I fell in love with how ugly and tacky it was, especially the yellow colorway. This dress is one of the ugliest dresses in my wardrobe and I mean that in the best way possible. I love everything about this hideous monstrosity. I love the combination of mustard yellow with teal, the heart shaped birthday cake bodice, the violent party animals in the print, and everything in between. This dress is so weird. The fabric is terrible, but I do not even care. This dress is perfect to me. This is my designated party dress whether for my birthday or someone else's. (necklace- metamorphose)

2019 Cute.Q 1980s Retro Cassette: Cute.Q has wormed their way into my heart. They make such fun and unique prints. I also appreciate that the cuts of their dresses are really simple and comfortable. I find their pieces really easy to style. This print is really fun to coordinate. It has a lot of unique colors to work with. (cardigan- cute.q, turtleneck- lucy & yak, necklace- angelic pretty)

Cute.Q Retro Smile: This dress is such wacky chaotic fun! I saw someone post a coordinate on Instagram with the white colorway of this dress and I fell in love with the print. I was so excited when I saw that there was a yellow version. I love how fun and vibrant the colors are. Someone once commented that this dress reminds them of a 90s Kindergarten classroom, and I have to agree with them. (blouse- dark star island, beret- sunshine by hester)

2023 Dark Star Island Afternoon Window Apron Overskirt: I am not usually an apron person, but I just love the color of this one. It is a nice cotton or cotton poly blend and the perfect length. It has ties on both sides, so it is very accommodating. It has two deep pockets on the front embroidered with green brows. It is a recent addition to my wardrobe, but I look forward to seeing how I coord it! (beret- spicy donut, purse- spicy donut, dress- bodyline, necklace- angelic pretty)

2023 Mademoiselle Pearl Sweet Persimmon Autumn Overdress: This is a recent addition to my wardrobe, and I am honestly not sure how I am going to use it. The fabric is really strange. It feels almost like a tarp. I really like the color, but it is very different from anything else in my wardrobe. I do not wear a lot over overdresses or aprons, but I thought it would be a fun thing to experiment with. I am not sure how much use I will actually get out of it and might wind up selling it. (headbow- miss point, dress- miss point, necklace- dolly house)

2020 Mung Bean Ice Cream Morning Toast: I originally wanted a different toast dress but then I saw that this dress came in yellow and decided to get it instead. I love the color of this dress; it is so beautiful. It is also incredibly comfortable and a really nice length on me. I adore the stripe of red along the bottom. There are so many colors in the print, and it makes it really fun to coordinate. I have a lot of toast and brunch themed accessories, so it is pretty easy for me to put together coordinates with it. I like to wear it with red or navy primarily, but I have also styled it with brown and white. I think I would like to try it with sax next. (beret- spicy donut, blouse- vcastle, purse- swimmer, necklace- angelic pretty)

2023 Miss Point Kitty Gingham: When this release was first announced I had the hardest time deciding on which colorway to get. I even did a poll online asking for help deciding between the navy and the yellow. I wound up getting both of them, but I preferred the yellow. I still have the navy, but it has just been sitting in my "to sell" pile for the past year. I really love the sunshiny yellow color of this version and how the red pops. It does give me some difficulty when coordinating it though due to the collar. It looks weird with all of my blouses and most of my cardigans. I get bored wearing it as a standalone piece. It is super cute though. (purse-loungefly)

Green Main Pieces

2010 Angelic Pretty Little Bear's Cafe: This dress is pretty outside of my usual style. The mint colorway is the only colorway that I like of this print. I love the bright green color against the pink and brown print. It is such a unique blend of colors in lolita fashion, and I find it to be beautiful. The fabric used on this dress is probably my favorite fabric in my wardrobe. It is a gorgeous thick woven fabric that is a sensory delight. The details on this dress are astonishing. I especially love the little pompom trim. I currently own the OP but I would love to someday swap it out for the JSK. (purse-swimmer, necklace-angelic pretty)

2018 Cat's Broom Yummy Pizza: I bought this dress as a birthday gift to my partner. They love it when I dress up for our dates, their favorite color is dark green, and their favorite food is pizza. This dress was perfect! Every time I wear it they always have the biggest smile on their face, and it makes me smile in return. It isn't the highest quality dress, but it is definitely one of the more fun dresses to coordinate. I have a lot of pizza themed accessories to pair with it. (purse-loungefly, beret- elleni)

2009 Emily Temple Cute Strawberry Polka Dot: This is such a beautiful and underappreciated dress. The overall green polka dots are whimsical and fun, the strawberries are realistic and stunning, and the overall design is just stunning. I wanted this dress for a while before finally getting to add it to my wardrobe last year. I only wanted it in this colorway, and I am so glad that I held out until I could find it. It is perfect. I think this will be the perfect summer dress. (cardigan- emily temple cute, purse- hot topic, heart necklace- angelic pretty, berry necklace- metamorphose)

Sax and navy Main Pieces

2009 Emily Temple Cute Stripe and Jam Jar: I first fell in love with this at a swap meet back in like 2017 or 2018. Someone from my old community (shoutout to the Minneapolis rufflebutts!) had the OP and let me try it on but unfortunately it was a bit tight in the shoulders and bust. I decided I wanted to track down the JSK but I wanted it in this colorway. I saw the coral and black colorways pop up for sale occasionally, but I never seemed to see this one for sale. I was so excited when this one finally popped up and I bought it right away. It fits well and it is just as beautiful as I remembered it being back then. I am so excited to have found it. (cardigan- shirley temple, purse- hot topic, necklace- angelic pretty, brooch- erstwilder)

2014 Emily Temple Cute Bubble Laundry Camisole: I had no idea this dress existed until someone sent me a link to a listing on Mercari because the dress reminded them of me. It is such a silly print of dresses air drying in the wind. The fun part of this print are the dresses themselves are actual Emily Temple Cute dresses and quite a few of them are dresses I actually own! Unfortunately, this dress does not fit a petticoat and can only be worn for casual coordinates, but I am happy to own it. (cardigan- little dipper, blouse- vcastle, necklace- metamorphose, collar bows- bodyline)

2010 Metamorphose Popping Balloon: This is one of my favorite prints and I would love to own it in every colorway. The sax colorway is probably my favorite though. I originally owned the OP but it was too short on me. I was relieved to find out that the JSK is longer and fits me much better. I love coordinating this dress with red, but it looks really nice with navy, yellow, and pink too! I also own this dress in black as well as the matching tote bag in a few colorways. (headbow- metamorphose, necklace- metamorphose)

2014 Innocent World Cesky Krumlov: This was one of my dream dresses and one of the prints that I have had in my closet longest! I originally purchased the navy colorway in the long length in 2016 (it was my first time purchasing from a Japanese secondhand market and first time using a shopping service!) but realized that I wanted the shorter length. I sold it and purchased the sax colorway in the shorter length. I had that for a little while but realized that I missed the navy colorway. I then sold the sax colorway and finally tracked down the navy colorway in the shorter length. It was my goldilocks and I have loved it ever since. I actually visited Cesky Krumlov in 2015 and this dress always reminds me of that trip. It is such a beautiful place. Highly recommend visiting if you get a chance! (cardigan- angelic pretty, brooch- innocent world, heart necklace- angelic pretty, bow necklace- cat tea party)

2009 Angelic Pretty Star Night Theater: This was another one of my dream dresses. I got it a couple years ago and I was so upset that it didn't fit. I almost sold it. Turned out I was just bloated. Now...it actually doesn't fit. I am holding onto it in hopes that it someday will fit again. I love this print so much. It is so beautiful and the perfect circus print. My favorite detail is probably the ringleader lolita. (blouse- dark star island, necklace- corona rosada)

2013 Angelic Pretty Milky Planet: This is one of those dresses that I dreamed about for years and then when I finally got it, I wasn't really sure what to do with it. I have only worn it a couple of times. It is beautiful but I never know how to style it. The print is entirely made up of pastels which is really far outside of my comfort zone and the navy is a much darker navy compared to the other navies in my wardrobe. I have considered selling it, but I haven't been able to bring myself to do so. (headbow- cccat, blouse- metamorphose)

2020 Angelic Pretty Ice Cream Parlor: When this dress was announced, I thought it was really cute and my style, but I knew that I wouldn't like the fabric, so I decided it wasn't worth investing in. Eventually it started popping up on the secondhand market at a good price and I decided to give it a chance. I am glad I did not pay retail price because I stick by my initial assessment about the fabric, it is not good. However, the print itself is stunning and vibrant. It does give me weird patriotic vibes though because every time I wear it someone yells "MURICA" at me and that makes me uncomfortable. (headbow- angelic pretty, bouse- glitter tale, necklace- angelic pretty)

2022 Angelic Pretty French Cafe MTO: This was one of those dresses that I had been wanting for years but was always outside of my price range. When Angelic Pretty announced that they were doing a rerelease, I knew that I had to order it. This was actually my first time purchasing a new release item from a Japanese brand online. I had purchased from the Angelic Pretty store in Paris before but never placed an online order. It was an interesting experience but not one that I long to repeat. I prefer to shop secondhand whenever possible. I am glad, however, to have this dress in my wardrobe as it is definitely one of my favorites. (headbow- angelic pretty, necklace- cat tea party, brooch- angelic pretty, cardigan- angelic pretty)

2022 Angelic Pretty Sunny Smile Laundry: I really liked this print when it was announced but none of the colorways really interested me. However, when this navy special set colorway released, I loved it. I told myself that I would only get this dress if I could find the special set colorway at a reasonable price and luckily for me, I was able to do just that! I am so glad that I found it. It is such a silly print, and it is truly beautiful. I love styling this with red and yellow, but it also looks really good with sax and white. (headbow- angelic pretty, cutsew- angelic pretty, necklace- metamorphose)

2018 Babyball Butter Cookies: I saw a few people post coordinates in this dress and I grew quite fond of it. I don't see a lot of navy and brown prints, so it is a nice change of pace. I really like the cookies. My partner kept thinking that cookies were a larger theme in my wardrobe than they were, so I took it as a sign to incorporate more cookie prints into my life. It is really comfortable to wear but I am not a fan of the straps. The fabric is not the greatest, but the print is vibrant. (detachable collar- fluff mollie, cardigan- little dipper, rosette- sugar teatime, purse- swimmer, keychain- btssb)

2017 Bacio Bqouet Popcorn Carnival: I spoke about how much I love this dress earlier, so I won't talk about it too much more. Though the red colorway is my favorite between the two, I do really like the navy version as well. I personally feel like they give very different vibes. (cardigan- angelic pretty, necklace- lolita & colita)

2023 Emily Temple Cute POPCOOORN Skirt: When Emily Temple Cute announced that they were having a new popcorn release I was so excited. Unfortunately, they did not release this print in a JSK. The OP would have been too small for me so I opted for the skirt. The skirt is too tight in the waist but is a nice length on me. I plan on getting it altered so that it isn't as tight on me eventually. I really love this print. This is probably the most realistic popcorn out of all of my popcorn prints! (cardigan- cute.q, purse- betsey johnson, cutsew- angelic pretty)

2014 Emily Temple Cute Air Pop Frill: This is the dress that started my obsession with popcorn dresses and is another one of my dream dresses. I fell in love with this dress back in 2016 and I am so happy that I finally have it in my wardrobe. Though I love both versions of this release, the frill sleeve version is my favorite. I love that this one has the popcorn along the skirt because I wear a lot of cardigans and this way, I can still see the popcorn! The skirt doesn't accommodate very much poof though, so I do need to make sure that I wear a more casual petticoat with it or else it gives a very strange jellyfish silhouette as seen here on my mannequin. (blouse- tiny garden, necklace- lolita & colita, bow- cute.q)

2014 Emily Temple Cute Air Pop Ribbon: I dreamed of the frill sleeve release of this print but while I was looking for it, I found the ribbon cut and decided to buy it as well. I do love the ribbon on the waist of this cut and the skirt has a much nicer shape, I just prefer the popcorn placement on the other cut. I wear a lot of cardigans so the popcorn on this cut tends to get covered up. I used to own this cut in the pink colorway as well. Sometimes I miss it, but the navy has always been my favorite. (brooch- erstwilder, blouse- thinking sheep)

2013 Infanta Golden Circus: I had never seen this dress before. I traded some socks and a cardigan for it at a swap meet because I liked the circus theme, and I was looking to get rid of stuff. I am really impressed with the quality. It is a really nice cotton fabric, has a beautifully vibrant print, has boning in the bodice, and just overall seems really well constructed. It is a much darker navy than I am used to working with, but it has some really bright bold colors in the print that make it fun to work with. I love coordinating it with green and red, but I would love to experiment more with the gold along the collar and border. (cardigan- emily temple cute, necklace- corona rosada, headbow- angelic pretty)

2016 Metamorphose Happy Balloon: I absolutely adore this print. It is so whimsical and fun. The duck balloons make me so happy. I currently have the OP in the dark navy, but I would love to have the sailor collar in the brighter navy (blue?) colorway. The OP is cute, but the cut is a bit limiting for coordinates and the lace on the sleeves is a bit itchy. I love pairing this dress with yellow and red, but I think it might be nice to coordinate it with sax as well. (beret- ms pineapple, cardigan- cute.q, necklace- cat tea party, brooch- metamorphose)

2014 Metamorphose Night Carnival: Technically this dress falls in the navy category, but it only looks navy in some lighting, most of the time it looks black to me. It is a really unique color. I absolutely love this print. It is so much fun and so different from most prints. I love when Metamorphose does stuff like this. The colors in the print are so vibrant. It uses colors like lime green, hot pink, teal, and even orange! I also love how the print itself uses actual monuments and buildings. This is probably one of my favorite prints. I used to own the OP in the lavender colorway, and it was also beautiful but impossible for me to coordinate. The "navy" colorway matches a lot more in my wardrobe. I would really like to track down the salmon pink colorway too. It is such a specific shade and I find it to be really pretty. (headbow- corona rosada, blouse- unique vintage)

2018 Mung Bean Ice Cream Popcorn: I already talked about this dress earlier with the red colorway, so I won't say a whole lot about it. I didn't originally plan on buying the navy colorway but my shopping service that helps me shop on Xianyu found it and asked me if I was interested. I wasn't able to bring myself to say no and I am glad. Though the red colorway feels more like a traditional tub of popcorn, but the navy is really fun in its own way. I really love to style it with yellow. (cardigan- angelic pretty, purse- betsey johnson, headbow- angelic pretty, necklace- tatty devine)

2014 Rococo Soul Jam Paradise: Someone from my old comm was leaving the fashion and selling off their wardrobe. They posted this dress, and I thought it was really cute. The measurements looked like it would fit me, so I decided to buy it and I am really glad that I did. It is a little short on me, but it is a beautiful casual piece. The fabric is really thick yet soft, the print is vibrant, and the cut is really easy to style. I really like the overall design of this dress and it reminds me of some Leur Getter pieces. I would love to add more items to my wardrobe with this kind of vibe. (blouse- dark star island, necklace- metamorphose)

2020 Vierge Vampur Alice Rerelease: I had always loved this dress. I thought it was so silly and fun. Someone local to me posted it for sale at a reasonable price and was even willing to meet me in person to deliver it to save on shipping. Initially I was really excited about it and then I was really disappointed in the quality. The fabric is really thin and reminds me of bedsheet fabric. There are also some printing errors along the border print. The stitching on the bow has some loose ends and overall, everything just feels a bit flimsy. I still love the dress, but I do not think it is worth the price I paid. Unfortunately, the first time I wore it I wore it with a red cardigan that stained it as well. All of my complaining aside, I do think it is a pretty and unique piece, so I am happy to own it. I wore it for summer ILD in 2023 because the theme was Wizard of Oz. I made a coordinate themed around the witches' legs beneath the house!  (cardigan- bodyline, headband- handmade)

2019 Little Fairy Tale Hot Air Balloon: I love the bright highly saturated colors within this dress. I also think the print itself is really whimsical and fun. I decided that I would wear it more often if I removed the large bow from the front, so I cut it off and I am glad that I did. I think the bow detracted from the beauty of the dress and it made it harder to coordinate. I love pairing this dress with red and yellow. I tend to do circus or clown themed coordinates with it. I have even paired it with a propeller hat! (blouse- dreamer, headbow- metamorphose, pin- metamorphose, rosette- cute.q, tote- swimmer)

Purple Main Pieces

2019 Berry and Wood Stripe Bowknot: I absolutely love this dress. It is such a unique design. Dark purple and golden-brown stripes are not something that I would usually pair together, but I really like how they come together. I originally got this dress to use for a Mardi Gras coordinate, but I've already worn it three times this year! It is surprisingly versatile in my wardrobe. (cardigan- cute.q, necklace- angelic pretty)

Black Main Pieces

2008 Angelic Pretty Whipped Magic: I already gushed about how much I love this print earlier, so I won't say too much more about it. I do want to mention that the black colorway always brings out my inner 2008 scene kid. I love how the bright saturated colors pop against the black background. This dress is loud, tacky, and obnoxious to look at in all my favorite ways. (blouse- unique vintage)

2010 Angelic Pretty Pop Love: I have wanted the red version of this dress for a long time, but I never see it pop up for sale. I bought the black colorway hoping that it would help fill the desire for the red one but instead it just made me want the red one even more. I want to sell the black colorway but haven't had any success doing so at swap meets and I hate listing things online. I will get around to it eventually. (headbow- metamorphose, necklace- metamorphose)

2011 Bodyline Maple Sugar Waffle OP: I have owned this print in multiple colorways and multiple cuts. I have even owned the black OP two separate times. I originally owned the sax OP and loved it but wanted to phase pastels out of my closet. I found the black OP and fell in love with how the print looked against the black background. I eventually sold it because I didn't like how the sleeves felt (itchy lace) and the bodice gaped. I then bought the black skirt, but it was really tight on my waist. I missed my OP but I couldn't find the black colorway, so I wound up buying the pink colorway. I liked it but it just wasn't my style. I sold it and bought the black skirt yet again, forgetting that it didn't fit. Eventually I found the black OP after years of searching and I plan on holding onto it this time. The lace is itchy, the bodice looks odd, and the dress is a bit too short, but I just love the print so much. (cardigan- dark star island, purse- hot topic, necklace- angelic pretty, beret- spicy donut)

2011 Bodyline Soft Cream: This is another dress that I have owned in multiple colorways over the years. I love this print. I have owned the sax, pink, mint, and black colorway of this dress. The black is definitely my favorite though! I wish this dress was about two inches longer but otherwise it is a beautiful piece. (cardigan- metamorphose, headbow- metamorphose)

2018 Cat's Broom Modern Geese: I really wanted this dress in the yellow colorway but unfortunately my shopping service has been unable to find it for me on the secondhand market. I settled for the black colorway in the meantime. I love the print on this dress so much. The little geese are so adorable. I wish that the skirt was a bit fuller though, it is a very narrow tube shape and does not accommodate a petticoat. (turtleneck- lucy & yak, necklace- angelic pretty, belt- metamorphose)

2009 Metamorphose Heart Frill: The red polka dot or red tartan version of this dress would be an absolute dream of mine but neither of them shows up on the secondhand market very often. I feel very lucky to own this version. I have had it for a few years, and I got it for really cheap. It is such a beautiful dress. The heart bodice is detachable which makes it really versatile. I do not wear it very often anymore, but I used to wear it a lot. I plan on holding onto it until I am able to find one of the red versions. (cardigan- little dipper, headbow- btssb)

2010 Metamorphose Popping Balloon: I already talked about how much I love this print earlier, so I won't talk about it too much, but I do want to mention how much I love that each colorway uses different colors. The sax colorway uses primarily navy and red whereas the black colorway uses mainly dark pink and light pink. It really makes the dresses look completely different despite being the same print! I love coordinating this dress with yellow and hot pink. (headbow- cccat, blouse- vcastle, necklace- metamorphose)

2016 Sweet Mildred Gourmet Coffee: I worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years and was a barista off and on for many of those years, so this dress means a lot to me. I bought it on a whim, and it is very different from most of my closet, but I love it. I struggle to coordinate it though because it pairs best with beige, ivory, or brown and I do not wear a lot of those colors. I like to do seasonal coordinates based on holiday beverages such as pumpkin spice lattes or peppermint mochas. (cardigan- little dipper, brooch- mossbadger, necklace- handmade from old lady sloth charm)

White Main Pieces

Lulu's Garden Honey Fruit Jams: This is another piece that I fell in love with when I saw someone post a coordinate photo with on Instagram and instantly asked my shopping service to help me track it down secondhand. I love the print so much. Another lolita also fell in love with the print and did a little research to find out that the print is a commercial fabric from an older company that went out of business in the 90s. The fabric has been reproduced by numerous other brands since then. I love the little pantry jars and all the bold saturated colors. The dress itself is a really lightweight fabric, has pockets, adjustable straps, and full back shirring. It is really comfy. I think this dress will make a wonderful summer staple! (cardigan- emily temple cute, cherry necklace- angelic pretty, berry necklace- metamorphose, purse- hot topic)
