Back in 2016 I spent three months backpacking in western Europe and one of my favorite places that I visited was Český Krumlov, a southern town in the Czech Republic. I will never forget the sounds of the street performers, the hostel I stayed in, the feel of the cobblestone path, the stunning views, or the overwhelming sense of awe I felt when gazing upon the architecture. I wanted to have something to remember that moment in time and Innocent World had just the thing for me in the form of a dress. I wanted to dedicate this blog post to one of my favorite dresses and take a moment to look back at some of my coordinates with this print over the years!
Český Krumlov Just Waist JSK Long (Navy)
2016 was the year that I first started getting back into EGL fashion. I first got into the fashion back into 2009 but I hadn't really gotten serious about it until 2016. This was one of my first brand purchases, my first time using a shopping service, and was my first purchase from the Japanese secondhand market! I had posted on a few social media pages that I was looking for this dress and someone helped me find it on Japanese Yahoo auctions. I absolutely loved the color and the print, but the length was a little awkward on me. I wound up selling it in 2017 because I wanted to find it in the shorter length.
In 2018 I was finally able to track down my preferred cut and colorway of Český Krumlov and I have kept it in my wardrobe ever since! I have styled this dress in many different ways. It will always be one of my favorite pieces. My favorite way to style it is definitely pairing it with red as it really makes the buildings in the print pop! I gained a lot of weight back in 2020 so it has been a few years since I last wore this dress. I think it may be time to get it altered so that I can wear it again.
